Philosophical Musings From a Mylk Maid

I'm beautiful was a big hit last weekend at our markets and in the shop with super beautiful aMYLK lattes. They were pink perfection. We plan to have those again this weekend as well as a number of valentine themed healthy treats at the shop.  You won't want to miss this special event day at aMYLK!

Deep Philosophical Thoughts with Amy…
Based on my survey late last year, I heard that many of you are quite fond of my more philosophical posts. If you are one of those individuals, read on!

Yesterday, my youngest daughter, Poet asked me, “Momma, why are there so many weed shops everywhere?” Without skipping a beat, I responded: “because people want to escape their realities.”

I know that seems like a very easy thing to say, but there are definitely times where I too, want to escape my reality. These are difficult times, both individually and collectively.

As I thought about this concept of trying to escape reality, I realized that real growth happens when we sit in our pain and we allow ourselves to feel the discomfort and acknowledge how that pain is affecting our body and our body systems. Each part of our body communicates with the other parts, so if we are emotionally blocking because we don't want to deal with something that is difficult or challenging, it creates problems that trickle down. This can create other blockages in the body which can lead to chronic disease and illness.

We can choose to escape (delay) or we can dive in and deal with it. The pain is going to be there no matter what until we transmute it. We are alchemists that way.

As I told my daughter, we are not meant to always be happy, nor are we meant to always be sad. We are constantly in a state of shifting toward balance. Sometimes we are going to feel very high highs and sometimes we are going to feel very low lows.
