Recipes To Try at Home: Pour Over aMYLK Oats

It's possible that I take for granted that everyone knows how to make a killer aMYLK smoothie or amazing aMYLK oats. Until now, I have never sat down to transcribe my favorite recipes, which, if I'm honest...I typically just throw together without a lot of thought. If you are intimidated by that, let me just tell you that with aMYLK as your base, it will be hard to mess it up. As with anything, you just have to start somewhere.

With this post, I start a series of aMYLK recipes for you to try at home! Check back for new ideas on how to use aMYLK to make delicious meals and treats!

My favorite breakfast is steamed aMYLK poured over organic oats. I let it sit for 30 minutes, add some fresh berries and a drizzle of pure maple syrup and finish it with a spoonful of nut butter for a protein rich b-fast to go! You can go nuts with toppings if you like. Hemp seeds are a good choice, or some toasted hazelnuts, sesame seeds or pecans, all of which add an extra helping of protein. This is what I typically pack for myself on a market day.

Step by step:

I start by heating 6-8 oz of plain unsweetened aMYLK using my Breville Frother. (Get this one and you'll thank me later.) I like my oats kind of soupy, but if you like yours on the thick side, use less mylk. Because I am planning to let this sit for a while, I like to use an insulated cup like this one from Riffle Paper.

I add a half cup of oats to my mug, pour over the heated aMYLK and add a drizzle of pure organic maple syrup to taste. You can get a great maple syrup from Costco: Kirkland Brand. From here, I throw on my toppings and put a lid on it and 30 minutes to an hour later, I'm eating perfectly cooked oats with no pan to clean.  Don't forget to bring your spoon.

Love,

Amy
