My Brand New mylk, Tiger Nut aMYLK

Hi Friend.

I have been teasing you with talk of a new mylk for months. You've been so patient!  It's almost here. In fact, we had notification that our shipment would arrive today!  Are you ready to find out what it is?

It's not a nut mylk. It's not a grain mylk, and it's not a seed mylk. It's Gluten Free, AIP and Keto friendly and does not pose risks for people who have nut allergies making it different from just about every other mylk in the marketplace. Can you guess what it is?

It's Tiger Nut aMYLK!  This one is inspired by my friend, Laura, who owns Tulo M*lk in the Hamptons. One day she called me up and said, Amy, you need to make Tiger Nut mylk! I ordered some tiger nuts and got to work on creating my own recipe right away. I've finally got some ready for you to sample this weekend!

Tiger Nuts are a nutrional power house and can help protect you from disease. They are high in magnesium, iron, zinc, potassium, Vitamins E, C and B-6. Tiger Nuts are also high in antioxidants and they have been said to help fight bad bacteria in the body while supporting good bacteria. They work as a pre-biotic, fueling the good bacteria and helping reduce gas and bloating.  Because we remove most of the fiber in the mylk process, you may want to order yourself some tiger nuts and keep them soaking in the fridge for a quick snack like I do if you are particularly interested in the fiber that Tiger Nuts provide.

Tiger nuts are also said to help reduce heart disease, control diabetes, lower bad cholesterol and might even improve your sex life.

One of the best things about Tiger Nuts is that they are naturally sweet. This means that I don't need to add any sweeteners of any kind. They are also high in healthy fats, which help you keep your energy sustained for long periods of time and they won't spike your blood sugar.

I have to say, Tiger Nut aMYLK is Pure Plant-Based magic and I can't wait for you to taste it.

What does it taste like?  It's nutty and earthy with a hint of grassiness to it. It tastes the way sunshine on sweetgrass smells. Do you know what that smells like? Sweet, warm, inviting and nourishing.

On an environmental level, Tiger Nut aMYLK has a low water and low carbon footprint. It's a sedge!  It is often considered a weed in Spain and Africa where it grows. These little Tiger Nuts grow underground and are also called “Earth Almonds.” It doesn't take years to cultivate a crop.

Because I'm Amy and I do my research to make sure that you're getting the very best quality possible, I even got a full corporate social responsibility report from the company who owns the farms where our Tiger Nuts are (organically) grown.

Before I decided to import from Niger, Africa, I wanted to make sure that there was integrity in their farming practices on both social and environmental levels. They are doing good work, supporting the communities that they are farming in, paying fair wages, improving and expanding infrastructures like mills, water towers, medical centers and classrooms.  They are even creating opportunities for children to help them grow and reach their highest potential, like football (soccer) tournaments, and cultural activities as part of their 5 year social development project. I feel really good about working with them.

Will this stick around? For now, Tiger Nut aMYLK will be an “I'm Special.” I have not decided if this will be a long term base mylk for us or not. If you love it, we will make it official. If you don't love it, we will say, well that was fun! It all depends on you. Personally, I love it in my hot cereal in the mornings and in my cocoas at night. I'm excited that we get this opportunity to play with it.

Want to try it? While our Tiger Nut shipment did not arrive in time for this weekend's production, you can still sample it! Come see us this weekend at Beaverton Farmers Market where we will be pouring the very first Tiger Nut mylk on the West Coast. (We can't sample yet at Portland Farmers.) We will have it available for purchase next week (4/10 & 4/11)!

We can't wait to see you this weekend!

Love,

Amy
